Celebrating with my Cousin Jen & Co her upcoming BIG 40!!!!

We had so much fun Saturday with my Cousin Jen and her friends celebrating her upcoming Big 40!! Her birthday is on the 10th which we'll be celebrating again with our families but this was a night of cutting lose and getting crazy.

We started off at Jen & Franks house were everyone brought a little something for dinner, then it was off to Packy's a local pub that happens to have Jen's favorite band performing!! The Band was awesome (Bounce).

We danced all night and I ran into a few old friends from High School, a very nice surprise. Rob & I hung in there and stayed all night, we haven't closed a bar since (well never together) but it sure brought back some memories of fun times back in the day!! Today I was tired and sore but it was so worth it!!

I made this cake for a Christmas Party at Work

and I forgot to post on my blog...so here it is

You can use any kind of cake you want

I used my Chocolate Bundt Cake Recipe

and this is how it turned out!!!

This was really easy to make...

Use any cake mix you want, use two round cake pans

put frosting between each cake

Then Frost the cake with Chocolate Frosting

Then add the Kit Kat around the sides of the cake

they stick to the Frosting (be sure to use the King Size Kit Kat Bars)

Then fill up the top with M&Ms or whatever you like

you could use Strawberries or Blueberries or Candy Corn....

I put a Red Bow around for Christmas!!

Christmas Day 2011

Christmas morning found me with the worst soar throat and stuffy head and Nathan feeling just as bad, poor baby was up all night tossing his cookies and he never made it all the way to the bathroom a few times, so that means Daddy Rob was up all night too taking care of Nathan and cleaning up. We had to drag Nate out of bed to open his stuff, he was a trooper and went back to bed pretty quick and so did I.

It was still a GREAT Christmas!!!

Christmas Eve 2011

This Christmas was Extra Special because we had all the kids with us this year at our house!! They all went on a Cruise with their Grandmother the week before and then spent Christmas and New Years with us!!

Ever since I can remember I've spent Christmas Eve at My Aunt Dot & Uncle Lenny's house and it's always been my fondest memory of the Holidays. We also would stop by Grandma DeMello's on Christmas Eve and see what Santa left at their house when we were kids but we always ended up at Aunt Dot & Uncle Lenny's house....Over the years the family has grown and some have moved away, there were times when all my local cousins would be there and my Aunt Jean & Uncle Ronnie, My Mom and My Dad , our current boyfriends and girlfriends at the time but it was always a Special Night and lots of Good Food, and Family Fun. It has been our Tradition for my whole life and to me, Tradition is something I love and is so important!! We've tried to start a few Traditions of our own with the kids, we always celebrate Christmas with them a week early at a Cabin in GA, and sometimes Rob's family joins us at the Cabin...but this year we were lucky enough to have them home with us...and

For the First Time, we hosted Christmas Eve at our house (I wanted to give Aunt Dot a break) and it was so much fun!! It was a tight squeeze but we made it work.....I tried to live up to Aunt Dot's standards because she goes all out for the meal and the gifts...Our Menu was, Honey Baked Ham, Beef Tenderloin, Mashed Potatoes (homemade gravy Thx to Aunt Dot), Green Beans, Broccoli Casserole, Corn Casserole, Cream Carrot's, Rolls and lots of yummy desserts!! here's a few pix from Christmas Eve

and we Missed Christmas Dinner at My Cousin Jen & Franks house and I was very Sad about that!!! Another tradition I look forward to....Christmas Dinner at My Jen's house. I love seeing all the goodies that Santa brought to the kids and getting to see all Frank's Family.

My Cousin Lenny married his beloved Marissa over the weekend in Jensen Beach, FL and we all gathered to Celebrate with them. They were married on 11/11/11.

Lots of family came to town to celebrate, we had lots of fun hanging with our family that we don't get to see very often. I have the BEST Cousins in the whole world and I feel sorry for the familes that are not as close to thier cousins as we are and we have great cousins because our Parents, Aunts and Uncles are so awesome!! We had a lot of fun, it was our first time at Season's 52 and it will not be our last, we really enjoyed it and we had a Blast with Suzie, Jon, Robin, John and Laura!! Suzie's Brother-In-Law is real hoot and had us all cracking up!!

The Cupcake Cupboard..and Gina & I took a Cup Cake

Decorating Class...it was lots of fun!!!

First we started with 3 Cupcakes

1 Chocolate and 2 Vanilla

Then we started building our "Hamburger & Fries"

We found some crazy towel animals in our cabin

We watched them carve fruit - check out the Angel!!

And of course there were lots of Ice Carvings

We also spent lots of time walking through the Promenader

and going through all the shops and also did some people watching

you couldn't even see out of it, if you didn't stand on

the bed to look out.

Waisted Weekend!!!

This has been such a waisted weekend and I HATE that!!! I've been sick with a miserable cold since about Tuesday night and I can't seem to shake it, the coughing is killing me, my lungs hurt so bad from coughing and now every time I cough it feels like I'm poking a bruise!! UGH Whaa Whaa, I know I'm such a baby!! But I can NOT stand when things are not Normal!!!

I feel like this guy!!

I managed to drag my ass to the grocery store yesterday for a quick minute to buy some Thura-flu and more cough drops!!! I was happy to be out of the house, even though it was only to the grocery store, which is my LEAST favorite place to go...LOL
I had came back from our Cruise, all rested and excited to get ready for Fall, ya right!! I feel like my life is on hold with this stupid cold!! UGH!! OK enough whining from me!! I know it could be so much worse, I am so lucky it's just a cold and not the Flu or something worse!!!

Can you believe it's almost the FALL already!! How did that happen, it still feels like Summer here, with 90 degree weather outside!! Oh how I long for those 70 degree days!! I hope we gets lots of those and not to many of the freezing cold days, we don't like those!!!

If I have the energy, my plan is to post the cruise pictures later today...but there are a lot so it'll take me awhile.

I think if this was my back yard view...I could recover much quicker!!! What do you think?

Three years ago today Mom became an Angel and I still can't believe it.

They say time heals you but I don't think so, you might be able to go about your business but the pain and the ache never ever go away, life goes on all around you and no one knows the pain that you carry in your heart.....and today as I sit here typing through my tears, all I want is just one more chance to talk to my Mom and hug her and tell her how much I love her and how much I always needed her and still need her.

I don't need anyone to me comfort or tell me they're sorry, because there is really nothing anyone can say or do to comfort me, all I want is my Mom!!!

I've always collected Angels in my adult life and now I don't have to anymore, because now I have my own Angel watching over me!!!

Sick Sick Sick

I've been sick since Tuesday and that's why I haven't posted any Cruise pictures. I just have not had the energy and I have a ton of pictures and can't wait to share them.
I hate being sick and can't wait until this bug is gone, just a Virus so the doc said no antibiotics....jeez. So instead I just have to feel like Crap until it's gone, and I tell ya, I feel like a Mac Truck ran me over, and my head feels like it's underwater!! Oh how I wish I was still on vacation!!

Day Trip to Beach in Naples

On Saturday my friend Maria from work and I drove over to Naples for the day to meet up with our other friend Kelly and her beautiful daughter Caylie and Kelly's Mom Pat.

We had a GREAT Day, started off meeting Kelly, Caylie, Pat at the Cove Resort The Cove Inn Resort for a quick breakfast (Thanks for the bagels Kel) and then off to the beach, after a few hours at the beach we went back to the resort and enjoyed a pool side lunch, and cooled off in the pool for a few hours, then we got changed and headed out to enjoy a little retail therapy in downtown Naples, then we had a nice dinner at every one's favorite pizza restaurant, Aurelio's ( I had to bring a pizza home for Rob it's his favorite pizza in Florida) and then of course we needed some dessert before we headed home, so one last stop at Abbott's for some custard. This is a place from Maria's hometown in New York, so it was an extra special treat for Maria, and it was really yummy!!!

You never know who you'll meet on the beach....we met a young man, with an interesting story, at first we thought what the heck is this guy thinking...he was alone on the beach with three kids, a baby boy (Sawyer) a 3 year old little girl (Jemma) and a 4 year old (Taylor) with no supplies at all, no towels and no Sunscreen!! The little girl comes over and started playing with Caylie, and eventually the baby, who I think was 13 months old crawls over, eating as much sand as he could on the way and finally the Daddy comes over and Kelly tells the guy it was okay for the baby to come over and can she please put some sunscreen on the baby who was clearly burning up!!

Well we find out this guy was only 28 years old, lives right off the beach (so right away we think he must be rich), and we find out he has another child at home with his wife, a 2 month baby. Then he starts telling us his story, his oldest boy Taylor is autistic and he was just trying to get the kids out of the house for a minute while his wife gets a little sleep and then he ends up staying longer because the kids are having fun. But we can clearly see he has his hands full. We find out he grew up in Naples but also has lived in California and will probably be moving back soon as he is a voice actor. He was really good with his autistic child and very patient. All the kids were gorgeous!!! So our day at the beach wasn't very relaxing but it was still fun and interesting!!

How About a Chocolate Margarita.....

That's What I'm talking about..

Ingredients:

1 ¾ oz silver tequila
1 ½ oz orange juice
1 oz Kahlua
1 oz half n half
1 ½ TBS chocolate syrup
ice
Oreo cookies

Directions:
Place Oreo cookies in a sandwich bag and crush. Place crushed Oreo on a small plate. Combine liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker and stir in chocolate syrup. Add ice into shaker and shake well. Moisten cocktail glass lightly and rim with crushed Oreo. Pour into rimmed glass and enjoy

We Spent the 4th of July Weekend in New Symrna Beach. My Sister's friend hooked us up with a Townhouse right across the street from the beach (3 minute walk). The place was very nice, with a great pool area and very comfy beds!! And the Kids loved running up and down the stairs.

My Beautiful Niece Deena was also visiting from Tennessee so that made it extra special!!

Please keep my Nephew Beau in your Prayers. He tragically lost his Father (Mike Boynton) this weekend. My Heart is Breaking for him, And I Pray he finds peace in the storm that's ahead of him.

Mike raised Beau as a single Father doing the Best that he could and he did it Right because Beau is such a good boy and now a good Man.

The last time I saw Mike was just over a year ago at Beau's Army Graduation and I could tell how Proud Mike was of his Son. Mike didn't always have the words to tell Beau, but we all knew that Mike was so proud of Beau his whole life and then for joining the Army and trying to start his life...

My friend Dana whom I've worked with for the last 10 years is having her first baby, a Girl, named Francesca Rose, and we (Me, Kelly & Sonia) gave her a work shower. It was lots of fun and I made my first Diaper Cake!!!

Marlins Game

On Sunday we were invited to the Marlins game by the company I work for....it was in the Fox News Suite. It was lots of fun!!
We took Ian and his friend Jessica with us and Jessica won a signed Marlins Jersey in one of the Raffles.
