Since it was too cold to go out in the boat, we did some exploring around the area and we were very surprised to find this great resort and restaurant only 5 minutes from our cabin. And to think we thought we had to drive 20 miles to the nearest restaurant!!! We will definitely consider staying at this place next time, they had cabins also but they had some really awesome houseboats you could rent!!!! We loved it....check it out.

This was inside the houseboat, and this is the back closed in patio sitting area. Can imagine sitting watching TV and this is what you see outside!!! You just open the back doors and start fishing and you could have fresh catch for dinner. We saw a 3 bedroom 2 bath unit, that had flat screen TV's in every room, granite counter tops & stainless appliances. Of course I wouldn't call this a cabin in the woods, but heck I could sacrifice a little...to stay here!!!
There was also a great restaurant that we ate lunch at.

The food was awesome, great southern home cooking.
This resort had cabins also similar to what we were already and some a little more upscale, they also had pontoon boat and paddle boat rentals. It's a private resort called Trails End Resort and we usually stay at the State Park, but this is definitely an option for us next time for sure!!
